Have you been looking for a crispy, chewy, tasty vegan seitan bacon recipe?! Well look no more, I’ve created a perfect vegan bacon bites recipe for you to try! I absolutely love this recipe and a huge fan of air fried seitan! This recipe was inspired by my friend Liz Barnard!
INGREDIENT FACTS & BENEFITS:
Vital Wheat Gluten: Seitan is a popular vegan meat substitute made from wheat gluten and water. To make seitan you must knead wheat flour with water, developing sticky strands of gluten protein and then rinsing away the starch. Seitan is high in protein and other various micronutrients while low in carbs and fats. Seitan is not considered a complete protein, it does not contain enough lysine to meet your body’s needs. Lysine is a building block for protein, an essential amino acid that your body can’t produce. It’s important to consume other products enriched in lysine, such as legumes, for optimal muscle protein synthesis.
INGREDIENTS:
1 box Franklin Farms Seitan Cubes
1 tbps Liquid Aminos
1 tbsp Walden Farms Pancake Syrup
1 tbsp Tomato Paste
1 tbsp Chipotle Peppers in Adobo (sauce)
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
5-10 drops Liquid Smoke
DIRECTIONS:
Open and drain seitan. Cut seitan into bite size pieces, set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in a leak proof Tupperware. Add the cut seitan to the leak proof Tupperware, mix until well incorporated. Refrigerate overnight for MAXIMUM flavor! Once the seitan has marinated, Air Fry at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes or until desired texture.
